15. Second Victim Syndrome

It's not IF, but WHEN we experience unanticipated loss in healthcare.  Everyone has a story - the details may vary, but our responses are predictable.  We experience some of these losses as trauma that shape the trajectory of our career.  Peer and organizational support are critical for recovery.  On this episode, I share a story from residency that followed me well into my career - until I was able to process this loss in safe space with a physician colleague.
